The distinctiveness of these mills lies in the fact that they are located in urban environments. Currently none of them are in operation, but in the case of the Agra mill (+43° 6' 31" -9° 2' 10") there is a restoration project with the purpose of turning it into a leisure area.
All three mills (Agra, Pasantes and Gándara) are nowadays almost swallowed by vegetation, but they are the reminders of a time when the locals knew how to take advantage of their creativity and artfulness to use the power of the waters of Río Grande to make the most out of the town’s resources. This is certainly still done now, but on a different level: all along the Río Grande and its tributaries there are several hydroelectric plants.
